Redesigning a unified, yet unique brand experiences
Situation
While Kravet’s website may have been performing well, it failed to match up with the in-store experience customers expected. Recognizing the opportunity to bring the brick-and-mortar showroom into their digital sphere, they partnered with us to bring their vision to life.
My Role
As the Design Director, I played a crucial role in our new business pursuit by conducting discovery workshops with the client and developing spec designs that showcased our vision for their new site. I executed the design strategies that aligned the project with the overarching objectives, while managing client relationships to ensure their vision and requirements were effectively integrated. As the lead designer, I created the wireframes, designs, prototypes, and the design system, and collaborated closely with cross-functional teams across various departments to ensure a cohesive and successful project delivery.
Activities
So how did we tackle it?
We kicked off a series of stakeholder interviews to gain insights into both the business and its customer base.
My team also visited Kravet’s main showroom, immersing ourselves in the experience the website was intended to replicate.
The on-site visit revealed an important discovery: the appeal of the showroom stemmed from not only the distinctness of each product category, but the uniqueness of the offerings under every brand within Kravet’s portfolio.
After the visit, we organized workshops to explore how to tackle a digital experience that could showcase the full scale and individuality of the Kravet’s brand portfolio.
Solution
In the end, the new site captured the immersive showroom experience that allowed each brand, collection, and product to shine, with redesigned elements including:
Allowing customers to shop by category or individual brand.
Redesigned style classes that showcased the different brand’s uniqueness through font and styling.
Populating pages with on-brand photography and copy for more distinction and storytelling.
